What is Social
Dancing?
What
is Social Dancing? Social dancing is done on crowded dance floors in
situations where the main purpose for getting together is social rather
than a dance competition or ballroom event. It might be a celebration
such as a wedding, office holiday party or a night out at a local hot
spot which offers some room to dance. Do you sometimes have trouble
dancing to the music? The music at most social dance events is usually
provided by a small band or DJ. The recorded music is produced to
feature the abilities of the artist recorded. Small bands play their
own arrangements of music that has the listener in mind more than the
dancer. They often offer their own syncopations to the arrangement.
Most social dancers have not been
trained or taught how to listen to the rhythm. Many of today’s dance
instructors don’t bother teaching rhythm to their students.
Attitude Dance Studios
teaches you not only how to listen to the rhythm of the music you dance
to, but we will teach you how to walk to the music in fun dance steps
and movements to the music of your choice.
